Diminishing Returns...

Deb Waits for Me

Crummy title I know, but what the hell do I call it? Winter Thaw? Foggy Field? How about Lucy Waits (Lucy is the retriever/pointer mix) Posted by Picasa

Medusa Cement Plant

There is so much to say about this place! Massive, eerie, tranquil. I will ask permission if I go there again, I was simply overcome with the monolithic architechture and ethereal lighting. Posted by Picasa

What's Left of Big Rock

Beaver Island Buoys

Saturday was just a rich, full day. One of the highlights if to find my home buoys #4 & #5. There is no scale here but the 'St. James' was about three to four feet high. These must have weighed many, many tons. Posted by Picasa

Isolation

I spent a portion of my day looking for the Little Traverse Bay Lighthouse. Much of my difficulty was due to all of the 'No Trespassing' signs posted abundantly around Harbor Springs. I don't think I have felt more unwelcome in a town before. Towering, pretentious steel sculptures, a polished downtown that made me want to crawl out of my skin. I continued because lighthouses are friends to everyone. This one was no exception. Posted by Picasa

Water was splashing up over the pier and a drop of water froze on the lens filter. Posted by Picasa

Petoskey Just Outside of Michigan Works

A wall of trees shielded from the wind kept the snow clinging all day long. Posted by Picasa

Charlevoix Channel P.M.

At least 35mph winds late at night. This is one of my favourite images of that evening. I wouldn't have made it had a friend not encouraged me to keep shooting. Thanks...Posted by Picasa
